Waffle
Description
A waffle is a batter or dough based cake cooked in a waffle iron patterned to give a distinctive and characteristic shape. There are many variations based on the type and shape of the iron and the recipe used. Waffles can be eaten plain or sprinkled with powdered sugar. Depending on the region they may be eaten with various toppings such as syrup, butter, jam, fruits, or chocolate chips. Ice cream cones are also a type of waffles or wafers.
